Weston Firefighters Quickly Put Out Afternoon Blaze

WESTON, Conn. - The Weston Volunteer Fire Department was called to a structure fire on Old Redding Road shortly after noon Sunday and quickly put it out.

The Weston Volunteer Fire Department had 35 firefighters at the scene of a second story fire Sunday afternoon.

The blaze started in a second floor playroom of an attached garage, the fire department said. The 35 firefighters who responded were able to extinguish the blaze with just the first engine on the scene.

No injuries of firefighters or residents were reported.

The Weston Fire Marshal was investigating the cause of the blaze.
