The Weston Board of Selectmen voted to upgrade the classification for the job of police chief from Grade 16 to Grade 17, the same grade as the finance director, the Forum said.

The upgrade will go into effect on July 1 and will bring a change in salary of about $300 more per year, the Weston Forum said.

Troxell currently earns a yearly salary of $117,456, the Forum said.

With First Selectman Gayle Weinstein out of town for the June 4 meeting, selectmen Dave Muller and Dennis Tracey both voted to approve the grade change, the Weston Forum said.
