FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Trumbull woman was charged with disorderly conduct Thursday following an alleged case of road rage in Fairfield.
A woman called Fairfield Police Thursday evening to report that another woman had punched and kicked her car at a stoplight, according to police reports. The victim told police that she had stopped behind another car at the intersection of Kings Highway and Grasmere Avenue.
When the light turned green, the caller waited several seconds before blowing her horn when the other driver did not move. The driver in front then got out of her car and began striking the victims car, police say. Scratches were found on the drivers side door, according to police reports.
Officers traced the license plate and stopped Wendy Kangisser, 40, of Trumbull, nearby in Bridgeport. The woman resisted the officers attempts to interview her about the incident, police say. She was eventually taken into custody.
Kangisser was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with police, both misdemeanors. She was released on a promise to appear in court, and assigned a hearing date of Aug. 20.
