'Microsoft' Scammer From Albany Cons Woman Out Of $8K, Police Say A man from the region conned an unsuspecting victim out of thousands by posing as a Microsoft employee, police said. Ming Shan Zhu, age 33, of Albany, was arrested on suspicion of grand larceny Tuesday, May 14, following a multi-agency investigation. Bethlehem Police said they were contacted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Florida after someone called a woman there claiming they worked for Microsoft. Driver Nabbed Months After Hitting, Killing Man In Holbrook, Police Say A suspect is behind bars months after a hit-and-run crash on Long Island that killed a 63-year-old man. Michael Sabeno, age 72, of Holbrook, was arrested Thursday, May 16, in connection with the death of Richard Dirocco. Suffolk County Police said Dirocco was walking in Holbrook, on Coates Avenue near Frank Court, at around 5 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2023, when he was struck by a driver who fled the scene. Alert Issued For Missing 14-Year-Old From Bay Shore Police are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Long Island. Angie Reyes, age 14, of Bay Shore, was last seen on Stein Drive at around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 15. Suffolk County Police said the teen is believed to be suicidal and may be in need of medical attention. Reyes is Hispanic, 4-feet-11 and 115 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. Leandra's Law: Drunk 27-Year-Old Crashes In Ballston With Child In Car, Police Say A 27-year-old woman from the region is accused of causing a drunk-driving crash involving a child. The Saratoga County incident happened at around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, in the town of Ballston. Sheriff’s officials said Haley Czwakiel, of Ballston Spa, had a blood alcohol content (BAC) greater than .08 percent when she caused a property damage crash on Saratoga Road. At the time of the crash, she was traveling with a child under the age of 15, deputies said. Neither Czwakiel nor the child were injured.
